President's Message

14-Apr-2008

Mr. Sundar Joshi, President FNA, West Palm Beach

Dear members and friends of FNA,

First of all a very happy Nepali new year 2065. May this year bring prosperity and hope to all Nepalese people living in Nepal and around the world and of course our state of Florida.

FNA would like to thank all of you for your generous support, cooperation and contribution on making our annual Nepali new year 2065 picnic program in Orlando a grand success. This year about 75 members/friends participated in the program. It is so encouraging to see our Nepali community here in State of Florida growing with the great pride and unity. And it was nice to see plenty of new faces. Welcome to all the new friends.

Our very special thanks to:
1. Executive Committee members, Past Presidents and Advisors.
2. Organizing Team Mr. Nabin Sapkota, Mr. Rajendra Shrestha and Mr. Bikash Devkota.
3. Our Guest poet, writer and editor of Nepali Bi-weekly news paper Vishwaparikrama Mr. Govinda Giri "Prerana".
4. All sponsors of food items.
5. Extra ordinary volunteers Ms. Binita Devkota and Ms. Ashmita Devkota. We value your enthusiasm to serve our community. Also thanks to all other volunteers from Orlando area.
6. Photographer Mr. Dhan Thapa for capturing each and every moments of event. Hope we can see his talent in our website very soon.

Since our guest was a poet, the poetry recitation program was an exciting event, though we had only three poets available at the moment, poet Govinda Giri, poet Bikash Devkota and poet Nabin Sapkota. A caricature of Mr. Madav Kumar Nepal (Makune) by Mr. Bikash Devkota was another surprising item we really enjoyed. Lastly, we would like to thank you all for participating in other programs like Tol-Mol-Ke-Bol, Raffle and Antakchari.

Our next big program is the Dashain party. This year’s Dashain party will be held in West Palm Beach, FL. It may be too early but, we would like to hear suggestions, advice and ideas so we can make this event a grand success like all pervious Dashain events.

By the way, this year for the first time FNA is going to participate in ANA Convention in Baltimore with our very own soccer (football) team. FNA is going to organize a fund raising program to support our team with the registration and some other expenses. Information about this fund raising program will be posted in our website very soon and an email reminder will also be sent out.
Your feedback will definitely help us to improve future events.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

- Mr. Sundar Joshi
President
